About
Some dirt on the artist….
When you see my work, know it’s nothing but mistakes. Because I don’t draw, I erase.
I often get asked the question “When did you become an artist?” or “When did you first start making art?” It makes me laugh because, like everyone else, I started as a kid. My response is always the same, “I just never stopped.”
As a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, I stick to my personal mantra: “Keeping the lights on and my inner child fed”. I make art for a living because I want my six year old self to live on. Yes, she’s oftentimes buried under due dates, rent payments, and my own special breed of grown-up neurosis and insecurities. But, she’s still present in each brush stroke.
Over the years, I’ve managed to balance creativity with practicality. Although, I learned how to wield a crayon at a young age, it’s taken me a lifetime to learn how to use an eraser. Because so much of art and life, is about discovering and eliminating the unnecessary. Only then can there be enough room for real beauty.
